Community Classes

As part of our Small Farms Initiative (SFI) program, we will be offering community classes. These classes are intended for those who are interested in regenerative farming practices, but can’t commit to the full 32-week long SFI course.

Monthly classes from April to October (no class in July). Intended for community members that are interested in small-scale farming but are unable to participate in the full SFI course due to financial or time constraints. Our hopes with these community classes are that more members of the community can grow their own food by empowerment through education, making our local food system stronger as a whole.

Classes will be 4 hours long and held on the second Saturday of each month at the GULB community farm (3188 S 1100 W), and be taught by farm managers Soni Scheig and Jess Collette. Classes will be $50/person and are limited to 10 people per class.

  • Saturday May 10 – Bed prep, irrigation, companion plants, transplanting
